PTSA Volunteers for 2026-27

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED for 26-27!!  We need great parents like you to give just a bit of their time to make things like funds for teachers’ classrooms, grants for special events and programs, teacher hospitality, communications to parents, school spirit through dances and spirit wear and more happen!

Please consider volunteering for a PTSA Board or Team role.  The roles are listed below and here is a brief explanation of role and commitment.  This is a great way to give back to a school that provides so much for our kids!

Please reach out to PTSA President Nate Edgerly (culbrethptsapresident@gmail.com) with questions or if you'd like to volunteer.

We thank you in advance!

P.S. We often get questions about the different organizations at Culbreth and have created this spreadsheet to hopefully answer some of those questions!

Porch Summer Food Drive

Food donations often decline during the summer, leaving local pantries understocked. You can help by contributing to the Porch Summer Food Drive, May 18 through June 26, 2026. Drop off non-perishable items between 9 AM – 3 PM at your school’s main office or at Lincoln Center. Most needed items include:Cereal, rice, pasta sauce, canned tuna, pasta, hearty soups, peanut butter, jelly, granola bars, mac and cheese, healthy snacks, canned fruit, veggies, and beans. Help nourish local families this summer!

Help Our District Make Graduation Night the Sweetest Ever!

Middle School Families: Did you know the Chapel Hill/Carrboro City Schools district hosts a safe, equitable, substance-free, all-night party for local high school seniors to prevent graduation night driving tragedies? Project Graduation 2026 is year 34, bringing a Candy Wonderland to the UNC Student Union on Saturday, June 13, and we need our entire community to help to make it "confection-perfection!"

 How You Can Help:

Volunteer: It takes ~222 volunteers to oversee all the exciting activies we've planned for the night. Sign up and pay it forward—help us ensure this tradition stays strong for when your student graduates high school!

Donate: We have a $71k goal, with half  the budget going directly to prizes and SCHOLARSHIPS. As a 501(c)(3), every gift is tax-deductible and makes the night even sweeter.

Share: Spread the word to neighbors and businesses. Let’s show the Class of 2026 how proud we are of their success!
