CMS Food Drive

The weeks of April 22nd and April 29th, CMS is going to have a food collection to benefit TABLE

Please consider donating from this  list of most needed foods for kids in and around Chapel Hill and Carrboro. Donation bins are at the school entrances so students can drop off when they come to school. Our volunteers will pick them up 1-2 times a week to drop off at TABLE.

New this year is a POSTER MAKING CONTEST

There will be a 1st, 2nd, 3rd place prize for EACH GRADE LEVEL.

Flyers with judging rubric and Food Insecurity Fast Facts will be available beginning Monday April 8 in the Front Office, Student Services, and Advisories

Please encourage your student's participation both by donating and in the poster competition!

This helps kids understand their larger world, their place in it, and the impact they can have. Ms. Mazva-Cohen will have posterboard and markers for students who have limited access to these supplies at home.

The Chapel Hill-Carrboro Public School Foundation’s Breakfast & Roses fundraiser is honoring ALL school staff at the end of April with a gift of appreciation, notes of thanks to teachers and staff, and funds to support vital programs for schools! During the week of April 22, PSF will deliver a rose and, NEW this year, LUNCH to all school staff. For 20 years, the Chapel Hill Restaurant Group has sponsored this event to support all CHCCS employees – every person who contributes to our children's growth and education! Here’s how you can help:

If you’d like to support this effort by making a personal donation to PSF, and a thank you note to the employee of your choice, click here to honor a CHCCS staff member!

Your gift will provide vital funding for high impact school programming including:

  • Annual Teacher Supply Store (hoping to expand for August 2024)

  • Classroom Grants (hoping to increase funds available next school year)

  • Staff Awards for Excellence (over 70 awards are sponsored by Breakfast & Roses)

  • National Boards Assistance (reimbursement of fees paid to become certified)

  • Professional Development and Conference Travel to support teacher development

  • And more!

The Public School Foundation provides over $100,000 each year for school programs. This essential funding is possible thanks to the generous support of our community!
